Seasonal Decorating Tips For SPRING

Spring is finally here so it is time to change from our 'winter home look' into our 'spring home look'. If you have never done this before here are some easy decorating changes for you to think about.

For SPRING
- In your living and family rooms remove your throws, blankets and winter cushions and replace just the cushions in brighter more spring like colours; keep throws in your storage ottomans just in case!
- In your bedroom change your heavier winter bedding to lighter weight and brighter spring-like colours
- While we are waiting for the trees and flowers to blossom 'bring the outdoors in' with the addition of greenery, plants or flowers. This makes such a big difference in refreshing the feel in our home. Silk flowers and plants are perfectly accepted even if you are looking for a sophisticated look.
- Consider changing up your accessories to lighter coloured objects with more sparkle to them

For Selling in the SPRING
Follow the guidelines above but remember the golden rule of 'Less is More'.
- Fresh flowers have their place when it comes to staging; keep in mind that many people have allergies and the flowers will need replacing. Consider silk flowers or plants and avoid the 'out-of-date' ivy greenery and vines. Tall or short twigs and/or grasses in glass vases are good or big leafy green foliage is popular for a contemporary look.
- Use more of the trendy accessory colours such as apple green, yellow is 'in' right now, as is purple and still the aqua blue and brown combinations.
- Try incorporating as many light colours including white, into lampshades, upholstery, art (black & white is always a winner year round) and your accessories can be glass, glitzy and have some bling to them.
