about Home Staging - Preparing Your House For Selling! Learn the Dos
and the Dont's that will that will help you make more money and
sell sooner.
Selling your house is a VERY BIG JOB. It is one of your largest investments, if not the largest that you will make. Why
would you not want to invest a little to make a lot? Whether you have
lived in your house for 5 years or 25 years you need to know 'where and
what' will make your house more marketable. Dana J. Smithers is a Professional Redesign Stager who knows what it takes to get your house looking 'OPEN-HOUSE READY'. This
event is always popular and the Before and After photos are astounding.
You will gain a clear understanding of what the 'Must Do' list is
all about for preparing your house for selling. If you are unfamiliar
with the term 'house staging' you will need to attend this
event! You will learn some practical tools that 'stagers' use to
physically prepare a house so that it shows well and appeals to
the greatest number of people. To start you off, try this mantra: My home is for living in, my house is for selling.
You have to start 'detaching' from the emotions that you feel about
your home, and treat the selling of your house like a business.
For many it is their retirement fund! DATE: FALL 2007 TIME: To Be Determined LOCATION: Vancouver Public Library and other Lower Mainland Locations Client Testimonial: "We
followed all your suggestions - we replaced a few light fixtures
and the wall oven in the kitchen as it had seen better days. We
cleaned out the kitchen cupboards and pre-packed a lot of items there,
as well as removing and packing some clothing from the
closets. The bedding in the bedrooms was all very new, so
that didn't have to be replaced. We did buy new towels
(white!) and bathroom accessories, removed family photos,
and changed some of the artwork. We cleaned out the garage and
storage areas and put our pre-packed items and some other
things in a rented storage locker. We bought a new door mat and
had a couple of really gorgeous planters at the
front entry. Other than that we made sure the yard was
looking great, washed the windows, cleaned the carpets, kept the
interior (and exterior) of the house immaculate and always had
lots of fresh flowers inside. We were careful about what we cooked so
there were no odors, and whenever there was a showing, I took our
cat out with me and removed her litter box, food, etc. Our realtor said
almost everyone commented on how clean the house was, it does make a
difference. I'm
sure the combination of all those things contributed to our quick
sale, just as you said they would! Although I found all the information
in your presentation valuable, I think the item that had the most
impact for me was to determine who your target buyer would
be, and aim the changes you make toward them. In our case our target
buyer was a young family, so we changed some art and accessories
and stored some of our antiques.(Home Sense, like you suggested,
is great for cheap trendy art and accessories!) And it was a young
family that bought it. Thanks again for a fun and informative presentation - it helped make selling our home much less stressful!" *************************************************************
