Mentoring Program

Welcome to our 'CRDA Regional Monthly Mentoring Meetings!

One of my graduates asked me why I had started the monthly meetings several years ago. I told her it was because I knew exactly how she felt. Excited, ready to conquer the world, passionate, loving this new business and yet there were lonely days getting started. I am no different than you. I need to be surrounded by 'like minded' positive people who challenge me.

My name is Dana J. Smithers and I am the Regional Chair for the Canadian ReDesigners Association in the Lower Mainland of BC.

At our meetings our agenda typically looks like this:

• Brief introductions ~ your name, your company name (if you have one), and what areas does your business focus on e.g. redesign, staging, organizing, decorating, colour consultations, etc.

• What one challenge can we help you with tonight?

• You are requested to bring one thing that you can share with the group about moving forward with your business. Sometimes it is not always something that worked for you, it can be something that didn't work that we can all learn from.

• A 'Topic of Interest' will be discussed and may include a guest speaker or a Field Trip eg. networking, marketing, colour consultations, strategic alliances, rental furnishing companies, etc.

* If you are not yet a member please request a New Member Information Package from your CRDA instructor.

** Location may change if a field trip is involved.

Connections are made with other graduates who might be looking for someone to call upon when they need a partner for redesign and/or staging; someone may have presented a really great marketing idea that someone else wants to follow up on, etc etc.

It's all good and we learn a lot from each other.
